Unto Others Fall Festival: October 3, 2009

Unto Others is holding a Fall Festival October 3 at 1651 Cass Street, with free food, bake sale, kid games. Vendors invited to set up arts and crafts or “white elephant” tables: $25 fee for vendors will benefit Unto Others.

Southwest Lutheran Church “Fun Fest”

A FUN FEST will be held on September 13 from noon to 4:00 pm. All community families with children/grandchildren are welcome: 5120 Homestead Road. There will be a hog roast, hot dogs, ice cream, snow cones, music, bingo, horseback rides, kid games, classic cares and go-carts.

“Feed Your Face” Fundraiser for Wayne Township Health Fair

YWCA ‘Steps to Success’: Education & Counseling for Domestic Abuse Survivors

Steps to Success is a program for survivors of domestic abuse, after they are out of the situation and out of danger. This program works with them for up to two years, providing education and employment counseling, guidance, etc. The program is voluntary, confidential and free.

CANI, State & City Stimulus Funds for Rent Assistance

Wayne Township clarified at the September Agency Meeting that CANI distributes state stimulus money to be used only for rent or rent deposits. However, the city of Fort Wayne is handling its stimulus money separately.

All Nations Friendship Center at Southwest Lutheran Church

The All Nations Friendship Center welcomes refugees and immigrants. The Korin people from Burma now have a worship service in their language, as well as other programs.
